Motivated is a real, operating US telehealth business. It is registered as Motivated, Inc. in New York, it prescribes through licensed providers, and no FDA warning letter to Motivated appears in the FDA’s warning letter database as of August 1, 2026. The complaints are almost never about whether the company exists. They cluster on money and expectations: the gap between “for less” generic advertising and the roughly $54 for a 6-chew pack (about $9 per chew) that Hard+ buyers actually pay, subscriptions that auto-renew, and cancellation that only happens inside the account portal. Its terms of service identify the operating entity as Motivated, Inc., list a New York mailing address at 224 W 35th St Ste 500 #443, New York, NY 10001, and specify New York state law as governing. That is more corporate disclosure than most compounded-ED sellers provide.

Structurally, Motivated describes itself as a technology platform rather than a medical provider, connecting users to third-party medical groups and pharmacies that it lists on separate pages rather than naming in the terms. This managed-services arrangement is standard across US telehealth and it is legal, but it matters for complaints: the prescribing entity and the billing entity are not the same organization, which is one reason support escalations can feel slow.

Motivated also displays a LegitScript certification seal on its site. We were not able to independently confirm that listing through LegitScript’s public website lookup on August 1, 2026, so treat the seal as a claim made by the merchant rather than as an independently verified credential.

What people actually complain about

1. The advertised price is not the price most people pay

This is the single largest complaint driver, and it is a framing problem more than a deception. Cheap per-pill figures in ED advertising describe FDA-approved generic sildenafil bought in large pack sizes, not the compounded chews, which run roughly $9 per chew at around $54 for a six-pack. A buyer expecting dollar-a-pill economics who is quoted nine times that will reasonably feel misled, even though both numbers are accurate for different products. 2. Chew pricing is hidden behind the intake quiz

We checked Motivated’s Hard+ Energy product page on August 1, 2026 and confirmed that no price is displayed publicly. You must complete the online medical intake before you see what you will be charged. This is common in telehealth and has a defensible clinical rationale, but it also means you cannot compare Motivated against alternatives without surrendering health information first, and you discover the real number only after investing time in the quiz.

3. Auto-renewal and portal-only cancellation

Motivated’s terms state that your payment method “will be automatically charged at regular intervals as described during the checkout process,” and that a cancellation “will take effect the day after the last day of your current subscription period.” In plain terms: you are not billed again after you cancel, but you get no refund for the period you are already in, and cancelling requires logging into the account portal rather than replying to an email. Subscription is generally pre-selected at checkout, so anyone who assumed they were making a one-time purchase is surprised by the second charge.

4. The chews are compounded and not FDA-approved

Motivated’s chewable products are 503A compounded drugs, so the finished chew has not been reviewed or approved by the FDA. The active ingredients, sildenafil and tadalafil, are long-established PDE5 inhibitors with a substantial safety record, but that record belongs to the approved products, not to the compounded chew as a finished formulation. To Motivated’s credit, this is disclosed on the product pages, which carry the language “Motivated Hard+ Energy is a compounded drug. The FDA does not approve or evaluate compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality.” Many buyers simply do not read it.

Does Motivated have BBB complaints?

We searched the Better Business Bureau directory on August 1, 2026 for motivated.com, for Motivated, Inc., and for the New York address on file. No BBB business profile exists for this company. The businesses that surface on similar searches, such as Motivated Leads in Bethel Park, PA and Motivated Security Services in Somerville, NJ, are unrelated companies.

This cuts both ways. There is no accumulated pattern of BBB complaints against Motivated, because there is nowhere for them to accumulate, and equally there is no BBB rating, no accreditation, and no complaint-resolution channel of that type. If BBB accreditation is part of how you judge a merchant, Motivated will not satisfy that test. An absent profile is not the same as a clean record.

The reason this question comes up is a competitor’s letter, and the distinction matters. On September 9, 2025, the FDA issued a warning letter to Dermacare LLC dba BlueChew, finding that claims presenting its compounded sildenafil and tadalafil products as containing the “same active ingredients” as Viagra and Cialis were false or misleading, and that the products were therefore misbranded. The FDA’s position is that this framing implies an equivalence that compounded drugs have not earned, because they have not been through the approval process that establishes potency, purity and consistency.

Motivated uses closely related language. On its erectile dysfunction category page we found “Contains the same active ingredient as Viagra to get hard for less” and “Contains the same active ingredient as Cialis to last longer for less,” and on the compounded Hard+ Energy page, “uses the active ingredients in Viagra (sildenafil) and Cialis (tadalafil).” Where that phrasing describes plain generic sildenafil or tadalafil it is straightforwardly accurate, because those generics are themselves FDA-approved. Applied to a compounded chew it lands much closer to the construction the FDA objected to at BlueChew. Motivated does pair the compounded pages with an explicit not-FDA-approved disclaimer, which BlueChew’s cited materials reportedly did not do adequately.

Why we are not quoting a Trustpilot score

We attempted to verify Motivated’s Trustpilot rating and review count directly on August 1, 2026. Trustpilot blocked automated access to the page, and the figures available second-hand were mutually inconsistent: sources variously indicated 4.6 out of 5 across 5,000-plus reviews, a 4.9 score across roughly 9,000 reviews, and review counts implied by paginated listings that ranged from a few thousand to over seven thousand depending on which regional version of the page was captured.

Rather than pick whichever number flattered or damaged the brand, we are omitting it. What we can say is that Motivated has a large Trustpilot presence in the thousands of reviews and a broadly positive average. Essentially no, and that is a genuine finding rather than a search failure. Restricted searches of Reddit for Motivated’s ED chews returned no substantive brand discussion, and the brand has effectively no footprint in r/erectiledysfunction, the main community where men compare ED telehealth services in detail.

That absence is informative. Trustpilot reviews are typically solicited by the merchant after purchase; Reddit threads are not.
